Chinese University of Hong Kong: Dr. Clemens Preisinger Karamba Workshop

Thanks to Krisof Crolla for inviting me to his week long series of workshops/lectures with Dr. Clemens Preisinger – creator of the FEA plugin to grasshopper known as Karamba.

It was as great chance to meet the creator of the tool and talk about the future of the AEC industry with some of the best minds in the industry.  I’d only previously dabbled in Karamba way back at the start of my grasshopper journey in 2011 (yep, its been that long!).  After seeing it in action with Clemens, I think it has amazing potential as a learning tool for young architects and engineers under the guidance of an experienced structural engineer.  It could also be used at early concept stages in a firm such as Bollinger Grohmann or BuroHappold do do some amazing, quick studies without the need for high-end, commercial FEA packages.
