American University of Sharjah: Introduction to Structural Engineering
A huge thanks to my friend Jason Carlow for inviting me out to the American University of Sharjah to help with his 4th year studio “Thick Skins”.
To kick off our week long collaboration, I gave the students a quick crash course in structural engineering. Check it out below:
Throughout the week, we discussed different structural systems we could employ to make their concept for this pavilion into a reality. It was quite a fun experience for me and I think the student’s learned quite a bit about interacting and scheming with structural engineers – a key skill they will need when they graduate very soon!
